I have new neighbors moving in above me. They've been really noisy today with moving their furniture up the stairs. Well, Peter isn't one for loud noises and quickly ran for cover. He usually hides under the bed, but today I found him under the covers. I believe he was thinking, 'If I can't see them, they can't see me!'
I created a web album of my trip: Yassou Trip
I returned from my week on the 49' M/V Yassou yesterday afternoon. The line from Oliver keeps popping in my head, "Please, Sir, may I have some more?". I felt like such a rookie on the boat, but I guess being out of the industry for 8 years will do that. My buddy, Dan, and his sister, Betsy, were great. It's weird being back in my apartment by myself after being with them for 24 hours a day for a week. I have a lot of respect for them both & look forward to next time.
The actual trip should have only taken about 5 days, but due to the weather (it's that time of year), we got on the ICW in Norfolk, VA. Though it's a fascinating tour of the intracoastal, it also makes for a long delivery. Hence my return to Boston before hitting Flordia.
Here are a couple of videos from my week:
Tied up in Wrightsville, NC. It's the end of the trip for me. Wish I could stay till FL, but duties call back in Boston.
Just passed the 250 marker on the ICW.
Left dock at 0630. Heading for Wrightsville, NC. I fly out of Wilmington tomorrow morning.
Tied up in Belhaven, NC. Had some anxiety with the docking, but the Capt is damn good. Gonna get some grits & beer now!
